SAMPLE 7.0 BANDS IELTS ESSAY

1      Company’s top level authorities should get their employees in decision making process. Discuss.

Employees are the pillars of an organization, irrespective of their designation, caste, color or creed. The top level authority includes people like President, Chief Executive Officer, etcetera. In my opinion, the top level management must involve the employees in the decision making process. I will delve deeper into this in my forthcoming paragraphs.

Inaugurating my first point, I would like to opine that the employees at the grass root levels have a very strong knowledge of the company’s process and can find the bottlenecks in it. To illustrate, let’s take the example of an Information Technology company, the engineers who are actually developing the applications have a clear understanding of it and the issues being faced by them, so their feedback is critical before making any process related changes. Moreover, the confidence level of employees increase significantly and they feel connected to the organization. Furthermore, involving the employees prevents the higher authorities from misusing their powers for their personal benefit. The attitude of the employees changes when they are part of decision making because they are aware that are aware of their decisions and toil hard to prove themselves. Facebook is a classical example to prove this point. This company actively involves its employees in decision making process and within a time span of few years, it has become the number one social networking site.

Some people argue by saying that the strategic decisions must be made by the topmost authorities as they involve the use of management principles which is an art. This is true up to a certain extent.

Hammering the final nail in the wood, I would say that the management and the employees must go hand in hand and function like a family to take their organization to the apex.
